The Koepfer Model MZ120 from Monnier + Zahner offers a robust solution for gear hobbing and worm milling of fine- and ultra-fine pitch parts. With its flexible, low- or high-volume automatic loading and unloading, this machine is a great fit for both job shops and final product manufacturing.
The MZ120 can manufacture spur gears, helical gears, worm gears, worms, and threads. The machine is rated for hobbed parts up to 25 DP and worms up to 17 DP. Work pieces up to 1.772” diameter and as small as 0.079” diameter can be machined. Maximum work piece length is 9.843”.
Besides a flexible, universal automatic loading and unloading system, the MZ120 features Fanuc CNC, hob shifting, up to 8,000 RPM cutter spindle, onboard deburring, rapid traverse axes, friendly dialogue programming, and a compact footprint.
